Debbie Harmon Photography http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/ Recent items en-us 40 I'm trying really hard to get my studio set up as quickly as possible but I'm being a bit picky. I need a love seat like this..or of similar antique nature. Anyone have one they want to sell, or know of anyone who sells antiques that you could hook me up with. I want to get an antique love seat to use in my seating area of the studio but also to use as a prop like this photographer did. (that's a small boy under my black marks) If anyone can hook me up with one of these I'd be VERY appreciative!!! I love the connection I have with these families. Here's some images of little M and his family. Thanks so much B family for honoring me with being able to take his first portraits. He was 6 days old and so sweet! I stopped in to my studio today to drop off a paint chip of the color I am having on my walls and I was soooooooooo excited! The hardwood floors are almost finished. Just another coat or two of finish and they will be done!! They are looking so good...not perfect but I love the imperfections! I wish I had my camera with me (I wasn't thinking!!) but I will try to stop in this weekend to take a snap of the progress. I just had to share! Thu Apr 24 11:34:00 -0700 2008 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/39153 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/39153 Debbie Harmon Bed sessions available this summer! These images were made possible thanks to my good friend Kelly Roy. She was setting up this bed, in this location in Kennebunk to play around with her own children's portraits. She emailed me and told me that she was going to be there and that if I wanted to bring my boys down I could take their pictures on her bed...I almost cried!!! Someone was going to help me photography my kids!!! Of course I HAD to take her up on it. After running very late I got there and had about 20 minutes before the sun was gone and it was too dark to shoot. Here's a few from my "bed on the beach sesssion" The exciting news for my clients is that I found a bed just like this hiding in the attic at my grandparents old farm house. So, new for this summer will be the opportunity to do "bed sessions" Some of my ideas are.. Bed on the beach, Bed at the park, Bed in a field, Bed in your yard Or any location that you can think up. I'm anticipating this to be quite popular so let me know if you want to schedule a "Bed session" Just a little business to share... **Due to the climbing cost of EVERYTHING I've decided to lower the price of my digital files on dvd to $750 for portrait sessions. This will give you all your session proofs in both color and black and white on dvd. My biggest reason for doing this is because I am a firm believer that you should have the peace of mind of knowing that you have access to your files forever. Should you decide to become a scrapbooker, need images for a family project, or even for many years down the road when your little ones graduate or get married, I want you to know that you have your images available to you to use in any way. So I'm making them more reasonably priced. There is no print order limit. They can be purchased without placing a print order. However, I will continue to be happy to print your enlargements for you and if you should decide to order your digital negatives then I will discount all regular prints by 50%. **I am going to be continuing to have a session deadline of Oct 31st for anyone looking to use their session prints in custom chritmas cards. And this years Christmas cut off for placing a print order that will arrive in time for Christmas is November 30th. **One other piece of business. I am excited to announce that my wedding business is really taking off. I have almost doubled my wedding bookings from last year (only need one more to reach that goal...so bring it on!!) But in order to manage my time and not get too over loaded I am looking at limiting my outdoor portrait sessions to one a week. (studio sessions are not included in this schedule) So with this being said I can not stress enough that if you are planning an outdoor summer portrait session or have a senior who needs senior portraits done outdoors this year, it would be best if you contacted me as soon as possible in order to schedule the week/month that you are hoping for. That's all for business "stuff." Thanks so much for checking in. I'm working hard at posting more frequently so check back often. I've been catching up on all my own personal pictures and I just had to post this image from last summer...I was trying to caputre Adam's 18 month portraits. I just love my silly boys Tue Apr 22 10:59:00 -0700 2008 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/38778 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/38778 Debbie Harmon I've been keeping a secret.... And I can't keep it any more!! Guess what I'm opening??? I'll give you a couple hints.... It's something I've wanted since I went into business.... And something I need now that I sold my house..... Yup...you guessed it I'm opening a STUDIO!! I'm renting a space in gorham on Rt. 114 between Sierre's rest. and the Chinese rest...where the old Campus Bookstore was. Here's the space from outside....with all the store front windows!! I can't wait to put prints out on display!!! Here's my very own door...isn't it cute!!! LOL!! It's going to have a shooting space for natural light and a space for studio lights. SO...no more waiting around for the perfect natural light! BUT my most favorite thing is going to be the hard wood floors and the real brick wall that I'll be able to use as a backdrop!!!! This is a picture of the brick wall and the unfinished wood floors. Don't look to hard at the yucky bathroom... he's completely updating that for me, along with painting the walls a creamy white color. I'm so happy that I've finally shared my secret. Check back for updates as the work inside gets finished. Mom wanted to have me come to them for some informal portraits of her two kids...B 8 weeks old and M 2 years old. They were so perfect! Cooperative and fun. Check out what we got. This first picture is a display of M's dolls including her newest doll....her little brother. Tue Apr 01 11:25:00 -0700 2008 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/35716 http://debbieharmon.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/35716 Debbie Harmon Fun, Fun, Fun!! Anyone have any thoughts on shag carpet? I'm starting to make some decisions on what we want for out new house.....lots of decisions to make! We will be putting new carpet in upstairs in the bedrooms and I've always loved medium length shag but I don't know anything about how it will wear or if it's any good. So if you have thoughts let me know. You can leave a comment here by clicking on the tiny little word comment at the bottom of this post.
